Cookie policy
Fickle Sports stores a small amount of data in your browser: cookies, local storage and an offline cache. Essential storage is always on because the service can't work without it. Analytics are off unless you allow them.

Essential (always on)
- Sign-in (Clerk): __session, __client_uat and related Clerk cookies keep you signed in securely. They're set only when you sign in.
- Your choices (local storage): that you've read the safety notice, your analytics choice, theme, units, map view and layers, forecast display options, and items you asked to save while signing in.
- Offline cache (service worker): the app, map tiles and your latest forecasts, so Fickle Sports still works with poor signal at launch.
Analytics (only with your consent)
If you allow analytics, PostHog (hosted in the EU, and routed through our own domain) sets a first-party cookie and local storage entries named ph_…_posthog. They record pages viewed, clicks, performance, errors and session replays, which help us see what's confusing or broken. Replays mask all text and form inputs, and we remove precise map coordinates from recorded addresses. If you're signed in, analytics are linked to your account. We also honour your browser's Do Not Track setting.
If you reject analytics, nothing is recorded and no analytics cookie is set. The only thing stored is your choice, so we don't ask again.
Third-party content
Map tiles, rain radar, webcams, fonts (Google Fonts) and the Clerk sign-in widget load directly from their providers, which receive your IP address and browser details as part of the request. We don't allow them to set advertising cookies through Fickle Sports. See the privacy policy for the full list.
Changing your choice
Use "Change cookie settings" at the top of this page or in the footer, or Profile → Privacy & legal in the app. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser, which resets every choice above and signs you out. Questions: privacy@ficklesports.com.
