Overview

Sierra del Escudo (Cabuérniga) is a mountain site in Spain with a recorded launch elevation of 829 m. It works best in northerly and north-easterly winds. Pilots fly it for ridge soaring and thermal, using foot launch.

North-to-east facing hill launch at about 830 m on the slopes above Valle, the main village of the Cabuérniga valley in western Cantabria, with a landing near the valley road around 250 m. It's a small thermal and soaring site.
