Parlick

E to W facing ridge site · 423 m takeoff · 201 m height gain

Overview

Parlick is a hill site in Lancashire / West Pennines with a recorded launch elevation of 423 m. It works best in easterly, south-easterly, southerly, south-westerly and westerly winds, and can also work in north-easterly and north-westerly winds. Pilots fly it for ridge soaring, using foot launch.

  • The wind at the landing field can often be as strong as at the top of the hill when it is coming from the east or west. Be wary of rotor behind the spine ridge in strong winds when flying either the East or West bowls. Source: ParaglidingEarth
